For the composite S/S wheels, the steel rims are rolled in South Carolina and the wheels are welded and assembled in California, though some components like aluminum centers are sourced globally to maintain affordability.
Authentic modern Cragar S/S wheels feature a flattened spoke profile, while vintage versions have a more rounded design. To identify Cragar wheels, check the inner barrel for the Cragar/Carlstar stamping and inspect the welds; genuine Cragars have smooth, consistent factory welds and should never show evidence of being “split” and re-welded.

The “composite” label refers to the use of two different materials. The S/S Super Sport uses a chrome-plated steel rim for maximum resilience and a cast aluminum center for iconic styling.
